It's simple.
You can do any one or more of the following to help.

Become A Member

Becoming a member of the Coffee County Humane Society is the first step in helping us. You will join at some membership level and the membership dues becomes one of the income streams that help us do our everyday work. Take the first step, attend one of our meetings (our meeting time and place is here), and if you like what you hear and see then you can join us.

Volunteer

The life blood of this organization is it's active volunteers. An organization such as this cannot operate without people who are willing to donate some of their time and talent to helping the animals. CCHS recognizes that everyone has different gifts and talents, so we ask that you use your skills to best benefit the cause. Volunteering does not automatically mean that you will need to take an animal. If you can talk on the phone and take messages, or write articles, or take photographs, or similar activities, you can contribute to the Coffee County Humane Society. To learn more about the jobs that we need, please see our Volunteer page. Visit this page often as we expand our job descriptions of needed jobs.

Foster

Fostering an animal is one of the most important but time consuming jobs that you can do. If you have the stamina, experience, and the time to dedicate to an animal or animals, this function directly impacts an animal's life. Because Coffee County Animal Shelters only service the needs of dogs, cats are solely being rescued by the efforts of our members. After a cat is rescued then we need to find a place for this animal while it is going through the evaluation process to determine its needs before it can find a permanent home. The foster will be responsible for the feeding, care, housing and transport to the veterinarian. Coffee County Humane will support the foster with food if needed and will pay for all medical expenses. The foster is usually the last step before the animal is ready for adoption by its new loving family. If you feel so inclined, please take a look at our Foster page, read the attached agreements and determine for yourself if this is what you want to do. The other foster families will support you with all the information that we have learned during this process and also from having our own animals. We will be there for you if you are there for us.

Donate

CCHS is supported only by contributions from individuals or corporations and specialized grants primarily for spay/neuter. So if you are not inclined to become a member, volunteer or foster, then you can do something else that is equally as important to a 501(c)(3) or non-profit, such as the Coffee County Humane Society, and that is to donate whatever amount of money that makes you feel comfortable. We are eternally grateful to each and every donor for whatever your contribution. All the monies that we receive are used to better the lives of the animals we serve either through needed veterinary care or needed food. We also serve the needs of low income families and aid them with needed food and care for their animals as well. So there is always a need for the money necessary to make these services happen.
